Director and screenwriter Alexandros Rigas confirmed rumors that he will be shooting a new dramatic TV series based on past events in Turkey.
In his interview to Proto Thema, Rigas explained that the series will revolve around the violent incidents that occurred in Istanbul in 1955 and the persecution of thousands of Greek people from their homes.
The story will be told through the developing romance between a Greek man and a Turkish woman, which will have no possibility of a happy ending.
Shootings will commence in summer 2012 and will mostly take place in Istanbul. The cast will consist of Turkish and Greek actors, who have not been chosen as of this time.
