Wishes Exchanged Between Greek and Turkish Ministers

The Greek Minister of National Defence Dimitris Avramopoulos held a heartfelt telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Ahmet Davutoğlu, who visited the Border Post of Kastanies where, along the borderline, he exchanged wishes for the new year with Greek officers and soldiers of the Hellenic Border Post.
The conversation between the two Ministers was friendly and the exchange of wishes was followed by mutual messages of friendship and good neighbourly relations between the two countries.
The Greek Minister of National Defence had also visited the region of Kastanies two weeks ago, and had exchanged wishes and offered symbolic gifts to Turkish officers and soldiers.
Finally, following the invitation extended by the Turkish Minister of National Defence Mr. Yilmaz to Mr. Avramopoulos to visit Turkey, the two men reiterated their intent to exchange visits in the near future.
The Greek Minister of National Defence asked Mr. Davutoğlu to communicate his wishes for a quick recovery to his friend, the Prime Minister of Turkey Mr. Erdoğan, and he emphasized that the bridge on which Mr. Davutoğlu stands is not a bridge dividing, but a bridge uniting two countries.
