Educational Programme "Let's Go to the Cinema" Restored

The Ministries of Culture and Education decided to restore the educational programme “Let’s go to the Cinema” (Pame Cinema), which was first launched by the Greek Ministry of Culture and Tourism seven years ago.
The programme aims at introducing young students to the Greek audiovisual environment, and showing them the main procedures followed during the production of a radio program, as well as the necessary technical skills required for the creation of a film.
Within the programme, students will be provided with informative leaflets, books and study guides, while studying the differences between two films on the same theme but with different aesthetics and narrative structure. Moreover, students will follow a course on audiovisual analysis and will fill in questionnaires with the help of their teachers.
Students can also take part in the short films production led by 9,84 and TV100 cinema workshops by creating their own films that will be presented at the “Let’s Go to the Cinema” Festival supported by the national Greek broadcaster, ERT.
The programme had first taken place in primary and secondary education schools in Athens, Thessaloniki, Mytilini island in Greece and also in New York, from 1999 to 2004.
