Allegorical Film "Οccupation" Available For Free Online

“Occupation” is the title of a new independent film production created by a group of volunteers in Iraklion, Crete, presenting an allegory on the present and the past.
The film was shot as an answer to the German, mostly negative reports about the Greek situation and the Greek people, and can be watched on the Internet for free.
Based on an idea last year of the producer and director of the film, Akis Mavrakis, the film production lasted several months but has now finally been completed.
Without any sponsors or any other type of support, with only the basics of equipment at his disposal, and without any previous experience in the cinema art world, the film passes the direct message that contemporary Greece and its people may be facing an extremely harsh reality amidst international libel, yet they bear the national responsibility and right of defending their dignity.
The symbolic connotations are evident: a Greek woman is persecuted by the German conqueror, he gets close to her and she asks him for the freedom to breathe.
The film was uploaded on the Internet on January 11, 2012. The comments on the film are piling up over the last few days and it seems as if the film has succeeded in its aim of making people react to their current situation and reality.
The film can be watched for free in the network community of YouTube under the title “Occupation”. The corresponding link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3iXNK6jbOeo
