Former President of Macedonian Studies Association Passes Away

The former President of the Macedonian Studies Association and Professor Emeritus of the Law School of Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Constantine Vavouskos, passed away on Friday.
Mr. Vavouskos was also Grand Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and corresponding member of the Athens Academy.
The funeral service will take place on Saturday, February 11, at the Church of Agia Sofia, at 11am. The funeral speech will be delivered by the current president of the Macedonian Studies Association, Mr. Nikolaos Mertzos.
Constantine Vavouskos was presented with numerous distinction and awards for his overall work. He left behind a broad scientific and national heritage work, as highlighted by the official announcement of his death issued by the Association.
The Board of Directors of the Association expressed the respect and gratitude of the 910 Partners of the Association to the figure and work of the deceased Macedonian fighter and law professor, and has called for a three-days-long bereavement for his loss.
The flags on the building of the Association will be lowered and a year-long scholarship will be established in the memory of Vavouskos for new research scientists studying the history of Macedonia.
