Seventy Nine Arrests Following Riots in Greece

79 people were arrested during the Sunday riots that left a landmark Athens cinema laying in smouldering ruins on Monday, as stunned Greeks contemplated the aftermath of widespread rioting that saw the destruction of dozens of buildings.
According to reports, of the 79 arrested, 53 were Greek citizens while the remaining 26 were foreign nationals. Three were under aged (between 14-17 years old), 41 aged between 19 and 29; 27 between 31-39 while the remaining 8 were above 40 years old.
15 declared themselves as unemployed, 2 students, 11 were employed in the private sector, one teaching instructor, one practicing lawyer, one in the automotive industry, one movie director, two working in construction; 39 did not state their profession.
