IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde Suggests New Measures for Greece

“There is still much work to be done for Greece,” announced managing director of the IMF Christine Lagarde. Lagarde answered many questions posed by journalists at a press conference.
In regards to Greece, she repeated the well-known phrase of hers “application, application, application (of the Memorandum).” She underlined the importance of observing the aggreement, otherwise there might be further austerity measures.
But Lagarde also made reference to other European countries. She commented that there are black clouds over the Eurozone, calling on  Europeans to try more in order to have “a stronger and better Europe.”
The director of IMF admitted that she plans to ask other European leaders to contribute to the financial crisis more, in every way they can.
She also marked it as “a good step” that the Chinese government turned its currency, Yuan, into a global one. “I hope this is not the last step for Beijing,” added Lagarde.
About 15 days ago, IMF told the media that “Greek politicians and citizens should accept and support the austerity measures,” referring to the fact that if Greeks do not compromise, then the country cannot become powerful, and will not be able to reduce unemployment rates.
