Five Men Found HIV Positive After Relations With Infected Prostitutes, Concerns Now For The Families

Five men were found HIV-positive after having been infected by the notorious prostitutes in Athens, announced departing Health Minister, PASOK MP Andreas Loverdos.
“We inform you – and that is of significant importance – that 5 men were found HIV+ out of the 100 clients that were tested by KEELPNO. Note that 4,000 persons have contacted KEELPNO and have asked to be tested for HIV, while private facilities inform us that AIDS tests have increased tenfold in private medical labs,” announced the Minister today.
“We have started testing these 4,000 cases and 5 men have shown a positive result in the 100 first tests. 5 clients have apparently been infected with HIV,” continued the Minister, adding that similar tests will be taking place on a daily basis until all men suspecting they have been infected with the deadly virus been examined.
“Unfortunately, the AIDS virus managed to get away from the narrow ghetto of intravenous drug users and illegal immigrants and has invaded Greek society,” explained Loverdos, noting that “our actions must be strict, immediate and swift, so that the phenomenon be restrained and fully combatted, the same way we had managed until December 2010.”
6,000 people have called KEELPNO up until now, asking for help as they have had unprotected sex with the infected prostitutes whose names and photos were publicly distributed for public safety reasons. 85-90% of these men appear to be Greek.
47 men died of AIDS in 2011, presenting a 57% increase in comparison to 2010. Unfortunately, scientists expect these figures to rise in the coming years.
