8th Athens Video Art Festival Begins

The 8th edition of the International Festival of Digital Arts & New Media of Greece, Athens Video Art Festival, opens its gates to the public today, May 18, until May 20.
This year’s concept, Visualize Athens, revolves around the spectacular world of Digital Arts and New Media, inaugurating and utilizing a 5,000 square meter building complex at the heart of the Historic center of Athens, as well as the surrounding public spaces (Stoa Kourtaki, Ayias Irinis, Kolokotroni), thus creating a network of urban artistic interventions and with free admission for the first time.
Τhe festival aims at reviving the historic and commercial center of Athens by visualizing the city through the artists’ own perspective, offering an impressive and multidimensional program to the public.
With more than 2,000 entries from 69 countries, the Athens Video Art Festival promises yet another amazing edition with 3 days of the best in digital creativity, cutting edge technology and design and, of course, lots of fun until the wee hours!
This year’s festival includes screenings, animation, live performance from Greek and foreign artists, DJ and VJ sessions, workshops and exhibitions with more than 300 artworks from 58 countries.
The Festival is organized under with the help of the Greek Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Municipality of Athens and the Attica Region.
