'Doctors of the World' International Conference to be Held in Greece

The 2012 international conference of Doctors of the World (Medecins du Monde) will take place in Greece for the first time on May 24-26, sending a strong message of solidarity to the Greek people.
Delegations of 14 countries of the network will participate in the conference: France, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Holland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Argentina, Canada, Japan and USA.
The Presidents of Doctors of the World France, Spain and Greece Olivier Bernard, Alvaro Gonzalez and Nikitas Kanakis respectively, will speak on the importance of the initiative in a joint press conference that will take place on Thursday, May 24 at 2pm at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens.
In the same location, a humanitarian conference will be held at 6:30pm – “The Right in Health in Times of Modern Poverty.” The Dean of Faculty of the Athens University Theodosis Pelegrinis, President of the Doctors of the World Athens Georgios Patoulis, President of the Hospital Doctors Federation Greece Dimitris Varnavas, Presidents of Doctors of the World France, Spain Olivier Bernard and Alvaro Gonzalez, Doctors of the World Greece Executive and doctor Ioannis Mouzalas, as well as professors and government employees will attend the conference.
During the conference, scientists will present the findings of a new study of the European Observation Post of the Doctors of the World and reports from the Open Polyclinics of Athens and Perama.
