Pilot Program Allows Immediate Visa for Turkish Tourists on Arrival to Greek Islands

Prefects of Northern and Southern Aegean Sea have long tried to attract more tourists to their islands, especially from Turkey. That’s the reason why they thought that free visa permissions or at least, a visa without needing many days, would lead in this direction.
The Hellenic Ministry of Citizen Protection has made attempts to facilitate visa permissions. Turkish tourists will have the opportunity to be provided with a visa on arrival to the Greek islands, avoiding the older day-long process.
The Greek pilot program begins with visa provision for holidays up to 15 days in Lesvos, Chios, Samos, Rhodes and Kos. This development, in combination with changes that have already been suggested in regards to young students, and athletes under the age of 18, will boost the Greek economy and increase summer visitors.
