18th Kalamata International Dance Festival to Take Place in July

The 18th International Kalamata Dance Festival is due to take place from July 12th to the 29th  in that Peloponnesian city.
The Festival will be inaugurated by the performance “Panorama,” the new production by DCA Company (Compagnie DCA) under Philippe Decouflé. The creative French artist is a long-standing participant of the Kalamata Dance Festival, one of the most talented choreographers in his country and probably one of the most popular in the world. He became widely popular after the outstanding choreography in the opening ceremony of the 1992 Winter Olympic Games in Albertville.
The Panorama show is composed of choice scenes from the DCA company’s repertoire from 1983 to the present day. These assembled sequences yield an amazing show, featuring  a new cast and innovative staging. The amazing choreography of these dance highlights allows spectators to enjoy a refreshing review of a long and fruitful dance career.
“Panorama” will be touring across Europe’s biggest theatres, such as the Sadler’s Wells in London, after its debut in Kalamata.
The dance event will be accompanied by various seminars and high-quality workshops that target professional and advanced dance students, choreographers, directors and performers.
