Nowdays, Greece is becoming a very popular wedding destination for all budgets. With its cosmopolitan islands, beautiful historic cities, and romantic sunsets, it is a place that can fulfill the desires of even the most difficult bride. Andros: The island of Andros is the second biggest and most northern island of the Cyclades. Famous for a number of Navy families, it has a lot of historic mansions, now transformed into luxurious and beautiful hotels. Imagine a reception in an old but fully renovated ballroom where years ago rich families celebrated their own important events. You almost feel that you have become part of history. And if you want something more romantic but equally special how about a wedding in the small, picturesque church of Agia Thallasini? Located at the end of small road and surrounded by the blue Aegean Sea, it gives the impression of hovering in the air. You can reach the island easily from Raphina, which is near to Athens, by ferry. The voyage lasts two hours and the routes are frequent,  especially during the summer and the weekends.
Corfu: The queen of the Ioanian Sea and one of the most romantic places in Greece due to the Italian influence, the island is full of music, historic buildings and medieval history. People in Corfu used to sing serenades under the bride’s balcony even to the present day,  and, who knows, all the way to the church. The bride and groom can use decorated coaches to reach the place of the wedding. Sounds like a scene from a movie? Maybe, but sometimes life is the best movie of all. And after that, you can complete your dream with a very impressive reception at one of the classy villas of the island. Corfu has an airport which is connected to all the big cities of Greece and some of those in Europe as well, so it is one of the most accessible destinations to choose.
Folegandros: Another island of the Cyclades, this time to the south. It is less popular and the rythms are slower, but that is what makes it unique and special for a wedding, warmer and more personal.  Folegandros is known for its authenticity and spectacular natural beauty. You can choose from a wide variety of places near the sea with small and old churches to perform the ceremony. The church of Panagia is built on the top of a rock, and it is the biggest of the island.  The view of the sunset above the calm sea creates a romantic atmosphere that you will always remember with nostalgia. The island has also excellent accommodation facilities with hotels that respect the traditional architecture, suitable for the reception after the main ceremony. The island is a little further than others of the region; the voyage from Pireaus may last 11 hours with the normal boats, but it is a destination that you should visit. After all, you get married only once.
Hydra: What makes Hydra special is the complete lack of vehicles. People use donkeys or small boats as means of transport. Is there something more unique and with a little local color for an ethnic wedding? Hydra used to be a very rich island, and it is obvious everywhere you can look–from the mansions to the governmental buildings. You can choose to stay in one of the transformed mansions with your suite having a breathtaking view to the sea. Most of them also have gardens with flowers which can host your reception.  One of the main advantages of this destination is that it is easily accessible, just an hour and a half away from the main port of Greece.
