Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Congratulates New Greek PM and Wishes All the Best

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew wished the new Greek PM Antonis Samaras all the best in his undertaking the tough task of leading Greece and its people out of the economic crisis on Wednesday at the Holy Church of St Nicholas in the town of Kozani. His All Holiness Bartholomew is officially visiting Kozani, where he was met by the Greek Archbishop Hieronymos, the local authorities and hundreds of residents.
The Patriarch also expressed his sincerest wishes that Samaras will recover soon from his eye operation in order to return to his duties. He congratulated and wished the new Greek cabinet every success in their efforts that must revolve around the best interests of the Greek people.
The Minister for Macedonia and Thrace thanked the Patriarch for his visit boosting the morale of the Greek people to dream of a better future.
Bartholomew on his part thanked both the Greek Archbishop Hieronymos for his coming to Kozani despite his heavy schedule and the Metropolitans who joined him. He also commented on the valuable charity work the Greek Church has been launching for the past year in support of the neediest suffering from the crisis.
The Ecumenical Patriarch was also presented with the Golden Key of the town earlier on Wednesday by the mayor Lazaros Maloutas.
