Corfu Festival of the Arts 2012 Begins

The 2nd edition of the Corfu Festival of Arts 2012 will once again open its gates to the public from July 14 to 19 turning the Ionian island once again into a meeting point of different cultural backgrounds, artists and perceptions.
The annual multi-arts Corfu Festival of Arts aims at offering a broad spectrum of artistic and cultural events that appeals to both the local residents as well as the incoming tourists.
This year’s program includes the following performances:
14 July, 2012: Piano recital by Anna Fedorova (Ionian Academy, at 21.00h)
15 July, 2012: Eldborg Hemsing-violin/ Alexey Stadler -cello/ Sonja Park-piano/ Dionisis Grammenos- clarinet (Ionian Academy, at 21.00h)
17 July, 2012: Nacho de Paz- Lecture on “The Music of Alive Architectures” (Municipal Art Gallery of Corfu, entrance free, at 21.00h)
19 July, 2012: “Fourth Wall- The Phenomenon and the Dynamics of the Theatre in Crisis” (Municipal Art Gallery of Corfu, entrance free, at 21.00h)
The events of the Corfu Festival of Arts take place in Corfu areas that are of high interest to the island’s visitors so that arts and culture effectively contribute to promoting the image of Corfu and the Ionian Islands in the international arena.
Visitors and spectators of the festival have the chance to live unique experiences combining the cultural variety and natural beauty the island has to offer. Its organizers hope that the Corfu Festival of Arts will become an established institution to host cultural events from the entire spectrum of artistic creation.
