Children’s International Summer Villages in Greece

The first two weeks of the pupils’ exchange programme organized by Children’s International Summer Villages (CISV Greece) successfully came to end. Six pupils from the age of 12-13 from Germany spent 15 days in houses of Greek pupils and returned to Hamburg with the best impressions, full of new experiences and emotions.
During their stay in Greece, the German pupils participated in educational programmes and cultural events, while having direct contact with Greek traditions and way of life.
The pupils said to Ana-mpa that their Greek experience will stay in their minds forever. The bright sun and the picturesque beaches made them have the time of their lives. They also admitted they loved the Greek cuisine and that there is no such thing as Greek-German conflict.
CISV International (Children’s International Summer Villages) is an international organization, founded in 1951 with the aim of achieving world peace through cross-cultural understanding. The organization operates international programs on an annual basis to bring together participants from member countries. CISV also operates in smaller communities with local chapters. CISV currently holds participatory status with the INGOs Conference of the Council of Europe, and the organization has once again been approved to be a sub-organization under UNESCO.
Doris Twitchell Allen established CISV, the organization has expanded into 80 countries, and over 150,000 delegates have participated in more than four thousand international CISV activities that delegates have made up over the course of these years.
CISV Greece was founded in 1983 giving opportunities to Greek youngsters to have contact with various other cultures and religions.
