Greek Man, 75, Dies Due to West Nile Virus

A 75-year-old man is West Nile Virus’ first victim. The man was hospitalized in the Hippokrateio Hospital during the past days, infected by the virus.
According to Proto Thema newspaper, the dead man was a resident of Athens. At the same time, two more infected people are under medical supervision. They live in the Glyfada and Faliro areas in Greek capital and thus, Athenians feel worried about the incidents.
Both men suffer from encephalitis and doctors describe their condition as serious. During the past ten days, nine people have been diagnosed with the West Nile Virus.
