A long-standing dream of famous ballerina Alexandra Iosifidi will eventually come true! Mrs Iosifidi will perform on Kos along with the distinguished Mariinsky Ballet.
Alexandra Iosifidi is very famous in Russia, where she lives and works, as well as all over the world. Having performed in Europe, the USA, Latin America, China and Japan, it is now Kos’ turn to enjoy her dance on July 22 and 24. Kos is very important to Alexandra since her father comes from this Greek island. The latter moved to Russia many years ago to study and that’s how he met Alexandra’s Russian mother.
In 2009 she was awarded by Dmitry Medvedev as the “honored artist of Russia” in regards to her contribution to classical ballet.
“The opportunity given to me by the Municipality and Ivan Savvidi was a great pleasure to me. This is something I was dreaming in years and I still can’t believe this is going to happen,” comments Alexandra Iosifidi.
“The only thing I could promise for sure to everyone attend the ballet performance is that they will have the chance to watch many famous ballets of St. Petersburg. Apart from me, there will also perform Alexander Sergeyev, Ivan Sitnikov, Anton Ploom and Daria Ermakova.”
