A 15-year-old girl was brutally assaulted on the popular Cycladic island of Paros while taking a late swim with her mother and sister on Sunday evening. The girl who comes from Athens decided to enjoy a short vacation on Paros, a decision which finally turned really ominous for her.
The teenager was on the Chrysi Akti beach with her mother when she went missing at around 8.30 p.m.
After frantically searching the area, the mother eventually found the girl behind a cluster of rocks, where she was lying unconscious, with multiple bruises and several injuries to her face and body. The bottom part of her bathing suit was also missing, indicating that the girl was presumably raped.
The young girl was flown by helicopter to an Athens hospital (Atticon), where a medical examiner on Monday is to ascertain whether she had also been sexually assaulted.
Authorities on Paros are continuing their search for information into the incident.
