London Olympics: Greek Women's Rowing Team Wins Bronze


Greek women’s rowing team made Greeks proud again by getting the bronze on the eight day of the London Olympics . Christina Giatzitzidou and Alexandra Tsiavou tried hard and finished third in the women’s LTW Double. The Greek women were the first team in the longest part of the race but towards the end they got behind the British and the Chinese who got the gold and the silver, respectively.
Men’s Four Coxless team, composed of Stergios Papachristou, Yiannis Tsillis, Giorgos Tsialas and Yiannis Christou, finished fourth in the men’s rowing race.
Another Greek rowing team, that of Panagiotis Magdanis and Lefteris Konsolas, finished in the eighth place.
Nicole Kyriakopoulou, Katerina Stefanidi and Stella-Iro Ledaki will take part in preliminary high jump toaday while Alexander Papamichail will compete in the finals of the 20klm race walking.
Greek men’s waterpolo team will also face Spain today. David Kavelashvili will take part in men’s 94KG weightlifting.
