Biliris' Mute Portrait of the Greek Crisis

Τake seven minutes of your spare time to watch this visual essay of Yiannis Biliris on the Greek crisis spreading across not only the country’s economics but its people and their lives as well.
MUTE – The visualization of an economic rape, needs no words to come alive. After all pictures can tell stories without a single word breaking their sequence.
MUTE answers questions such as “What is the Greek debt crisis really like?” in its own colorful way. With the haunting music of Kostis Kritsotakis, the short documentary marks the latest work of Biliris for Greece and his first for worldgrapher.com, as the director himself noted, according to Skaouter.gr.

Biliris was born in Athens, Greece in May 1980. Following his passion for filming from a young age, he completed his studies in film-editing and worked for many Greek TV programs, such as renowned public television documentary series Exandas. He has received three Official Selections, one Honorable Mention in the 2009 International Photography Awards and seven of his photographs made it to the finals of the Px3 2010 – People’s choice awards.
