Playing under a new coach, Panathinaikos beat PAOK 2-0, allowing Greek league leader Olympiakos to open an eight-point gap over the Thessaloniki team Sunday.
Juan Ramon Rocha replaced Zesualdo Ferreira at Panathinaikos’ helm on Wednesday after several disappointing results.
Zeca opened the scoring in the 51st with a low drive and Vitolo converted a penalty in the 83rd. PAOK’s goalkeeper Jacobo kept protesting loudly after the goal, was shown a red card and had to be dragged off the field cursing at opponents, teammates and booing spectators. He also heartened a linesman.
