Greece, with its 6,000 islands and islets scattered in the Aegean and Ionian Seas, is full of honeymoon destinations.

There are destinations that are ideal for honeymoon retreats where you can choose to explore the history, sunbathe on beautiful beaches, or wander in the quiet of traditional villages.

There are many options for the newlyweds to choose from in the land of goddess Aphrodite and the love god Eros.

Of course one of the most romantic destinations in the world is Santorini, formed by a massive volcanic eruption thousands of years ago. It offers a unique blend of historical richness, natural beauty, and modern architecture for travelers.

The rare, natural beauty of this place makes it a perfect destination for your honeymoon. You can explore the breathtaking Caldera, volcanic beaches, and lunar landscapes, as well as create million-dollar memories that will last a lifetime.

Only an hour by high-speed boat from the popular island of Santorini, Folegandros is for those who are looking to experience a simpler and more memorable Greek experience.

“Often overshadowed by neighboring Santorini, Folegandros proposes a [welcome] escape from the hustle and bustle of more popular Greek islands,” a recent travel review said.

Santorini’s streets are thronged with admirers, but on Folegandros, a nearby island in the Cyclades, you’ll find similar architecture—streets paved in slate, whitewashed buildings decorated with colorful flowers, the occasional Greek Orthodox church with a bright blue dome—without the crowds.

Milos is a stunning volcanic Greek island and is the south-westernmost island in the Cyclades group.

Because of its volcanic origin, Milos possesses a captivating colorful landscape with soft sandy beaches, underwater sea caves, and reddish cliffs, and has more than 75 exotic beaches.

Standing out for its sublime beauty, picturesque fishing villages, rich history, and mouth-watering food, Milos is an unfailing Cycladic treasure that will steal your heart with its dazzling beauty.

The Venus de Milo and the Asclepius of Milos were both found on the island, as were a Poseidon and an archaic Apollo now in Athens.

The exotic Ionian island is a unique example of how elegance and nature can interact. With a unique combination of long history and lush greenery, this island was the choice for newlyweds even in antiquity, when Jason and Medea got married there.

The Venetian influence in the old city, the small villages spread across the island, the emerald beaches, and the delicious cuisine are only a few assets of the northwestern island.

One of the most beautiful and well-known beaches on the island of Corfu, the picturesque Canal d’Amour or “Channel of Love,” is known throughout Europe and worldwide as the beach for true lovers who want to stay together forever.

Located in the north of the island near Sidari, about 32 kilometers (20 miles) from the main town and on the westernmost tip of the island’s northern shore, it is remarkable for its sculpted sandstone rocks which rise up on either side, forming a natural fjord-like canal.

The stunning Greek retreat of Skopelos in the Northern Sporades group of Greek islands was the setting for one of the most engaging films of the last few years, Mamma Mia!

Skopelos is often described as the island of romance. With its hilly, verdant landscapes and sparser crowds compared to more popular Greek spots, it is a persistent draw for travelers from all over the world.

It has a natural landscape that has remained untouched for centuries and is one of the most valuable experiences for visitors.

Kefalonia, the largest island in the Ionian Sea, is famously known as the location of the movie Captain Corelli’s Mandolin. The pull, however, is deeper and more visceral than Hollywood’s immortalization of the island.

Famous worldwide for its scenic beaches (such as Myrtos, Antisamos, Lourdas, Skala), dramatic landscapes, and delicious food, the island attracts and bewitches thousands of visitors.

Indigo bays, enchanting villages (Fiscardo, Argostoli, Sami, Assos), white dazzling sand, exciting activities, mysterious caves, and lively atmosphere create an exotic holiday paradise in the middle of the Ionian sea.

Hydra, built in the shape of an amphitheater on a slope overlooking the Argosaronic gulf, is one of the most romantic destinations in Greece, ideal for a honeymoon.

Traditional stone mansions, narrow cobblestoned streets, secluded squares, and above all, the banning of cars and the use of around five hundred donkeys as means of public transportation, explain why Hydra has preserved its distinctive atmosphere through the passage of time.

The island experienced exceptional economic growth in the past thanks to its great naval and commercial activity. The Hydriots also contributed significantly to the 1821 War of Independence as their powerful fleet participated in crucial sea battles.

Paxos, the love nest of Poseidon, is a tiny island just seven miles long. It is not far from Corfu in the Ionian Sea.

It is known for its blue-green coasts and green beaches with trees that reach down to the water’s edge.

The island, which is covered with olive groves, is famous for its natural beauty. Thousands of olive trees (200,000 in total, some now really ancient) were introduced when the Paxiots were paid for each tree planted. The pine trees and vineyards, whose grapes are used for making the local wine, are a delight for the eyes.
