Doctors and Nurses Leave Greece

ellinesgiatroiFour hundred young doctors and nurses gathered yesterday in the hall of an Athens central hotel, to be briefed by six European countries’ representatives over job prospects abroad.
The event was organized by the European Commission, Eures, in collaboration with representatives from other hospitals in Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland and the United Kingdom in order to inform Greek doctors and nurses wishing to work in their countries.
Katerina Flaka, the head of the Greek section of EURES states in Ethnos that: “The hospitals’ representatives were completely satisfied with the qualifications of the candidates. They were very impressed over the fact that many doctors and nurses were already aware of the steps someone should follow so as to enter the labor market in their countries.”
The majority was unemployed, particularly nurses, who want to leave Greece to seek a job abroad.
