Greeks Abroad Get Tax Filing Extension

f876f4d6211bf2eeb23701c816c4c8f9_XLA three-month extension to Greeks living abroad, who have income in Greece, has been granted by the Greek Ministry of Finance to give taxpayers time to prepare their filings after the government earlier failed to alert them they had to report their earnings and to avoid being taxed in both countries on their global income.
The  documents and certificates of taxes and residency can take 45 days or more to be issued but those affected were not notified until late in December 2012, making it impossible for them to file before the end of the year.
It’s been reported now, however, that Deputy Minister of Finance, George Mavraganis said the documents can be filed up to March 29, 2103. Those who have no income in Greece are not required to file in Greece.
