Greek-Cypriots Flee to Arab Countries For Jobs

mayriergasia__mainWith unemployment rising in crisis-crunched Cypriot, which needs a 17 billion euros ($22.72 billion) bailout, many Greek Cypriots are leaving for nearby Arab countries in search of work, especially Bahrait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

The journal Phileleftheros said construction companies operating in Arab countries, are looking for qualified personnel to work on major projects.

One of the largest construction companies of Cyprus, Lois Builders, announced that it is looking for staff to work in a project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The company is looking for qualified employees to cover 14 job positions along with other needed staffing.

A representative of the Company said there is a growing interest by many Greek Cypriots  in working abroad regardless they are employed as they are searching for higher-paying positions.

In Riyadh, Doha and Manama several large companies, including J&P, are operating. Many Greek Cypriots are working in Greek companies operating in Arab countries and there is fierce competition with Greeks as some jobs offer salaries of more than $100,000 annually.

    This work is only temporary. Countries like SA rarely give citizenship to non-Muslims. Also I bet they asked for a job.. rather than just disrespectfully sneak across borders by the millions and rant “racism” when the locals get upset.

    According to some foreigners …. we are  “racists” for not allowing new Mosques to be built for the sake of illegals flooding our country. You see Greeks are “”racists” for objecting to massive numbers of illegals violating our sovereign borders.  Of course those doing the ranting gloss over the fact that their own nations DEPORT ILLEGALS…. despite having far far fewer per capita than Greece. “Fascism” and “anti-immigrant” when a Greece deports illegals. “Self-defense” when their own countries deport illegals. Clearly rationally and morally consistent not racism against Greeks.

    Greeks are also “racists” for objecting to blatantly obvious state propaganda of the former Yugoslavians who are clearly abusing the name Macedonia to turn themselves into “ancient Macedonians” and use it to encourage irredentism against Greece. Meanwhile  their self-righteous patronizing alleged “human rights” apologists pretend not to notice their sudden identity quick change from Slavs into “ancient Macedonians”? Clearly “human rights”… not a subtle attempt to delete the very identity of Greeks to dishonestly hide their embarrassment for supporting them.

    And while communist Syriza constantly bizarrely attack indgeneous Greeks as “racists” for not for attacking anyone whatsoever (like say for imaginary WMDs in Iraq) but for simply defending our own sovereign borders…. in places like Bahrait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia communists would risk being killed for simply drawing a picture of Mohammed.

    Yet you find offense with me?
