No Turkish Commercial in Greek Museum

addA Turkish firm hoping to get permission from Greece’s Central Archaeological Council to shoot a shampoo commercial in Athens’ Numismatic Museum has been denied, despite an earlier agreement from the museum’s officials.
The script suggested by L’Oreal Istanbul was, according to the Greek Cullture Ministry’s Museums, Exhibitions and Educational programs directorate, “defamatory for our museums and their security.”
The Greek production company Central Athens said that the advertisement involves a young woman silently walking in the museum, easily avoiding laser security systems and reaching a bottle of the company’s shampoo. Then she happily realizes that her hairstyle has not been affected. A new end for the story was suggested, as the original included a necklace that the girl would wear before escaping.
There were questions, by the members of the Council, as to why the company did not select a Turkish museum to create the advertisement as well as why the Numismatic Museum’s directory accepted the proposal. Greek museums last year were the subject of a number of thefts amid complaints there was insufficient security.
