Greek Sun Offers Cheap, Clean Power

greeksunGreekSun is a is non-political, non-profit offering free-of charge installation of photovoltaic panels on the roofs of houses and small-sized enterprises. Company officials said they want to utilize solar energy, one of the country’s best resources during a crushing economic crisis and as electricity is generated by coal-fired plants.
“We intend to make use of the sunlight of our country in order to help the citizens who have been seriously affected by the financial crisis and currently face survival problems. The beneficiary of the project becomes producer of electric current by a pure, sustainable source that neither causes sound-pollution nor environmental pollution,” company founder Aggelos Ladas said.
The company has a contract with DEI (Hellenic Public Power Corporation S.A.)  to diffuse the generated electric potential energy from the photovoltaic panel in its grid. The contract’s duration is 25 years, and the guaranteed market price during this whole period is equal to 0.25 €/kWh
Supposing that a photovoltaic panel, the power of which is 1kW, generates an average 1150 – 1450 kWh per year, depending on the area’s sunlight, then the earnings from a photovoltaic panel the power of which is 10kW, can rise even to 4,000 euros ($5,338) a year.
The major advantage of this activity is the earnings that derive from the sale of the electric current from the photovoltaic installation can cover the power expenses and food for family for 25 years and the panels require minimum maintenance, relying mostly on the sun.
