Street Photography Exhibit in Athens

fotografia_dromouThe Regional Unity of South Athens is presenting the 2nd Photo Exhibition through March 1  at the Municipal Gallery of Kallithea Sophia Laskaridou” The title of this year’s exhibition is Street Photography, the topic chosen by online voting.
The topic has garnered much response. Professionals and amateurs who love photography took their cameras and their mobile phones to capture the everyday moments of the streets of the city. Children or adults, tram stations or a walk on the beach, the sun or the dull streetlights, they all have their own place and a different story to tell.
The exhibition includes different highlights inspired from the daily routine of South Athens. The lens captured small details on large canvases, games of shadows, colors on walls, the tension in the shapes of cars and buildings.
Many photos were collected for the exhibition. The jury, which consists of the photo-reporters Yiannis Bechrakis, Nikos Pilos and Iacovos Chatzistavrou, narrowed them to 35 shots. The event is open daily from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 6-9 p.m. but is closed on Saturdays.
