IKEA Withdraws Meatballs from Greece

imagesSwedish furniture retailing giant IKEA decided to withdraw its meatballs from its restaurants in Greece after the Czech State Veterinary Administration reported finding horsemeat in the same food product.
According to CBC News, Ikea spokeswoman Ylva Magnusson said meatballs from the same batch had gone out to Slovakia, Hungary, France, Britain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Greece, Cyprus and Ireland and have been taken off the shelves from all these countries.
IKEA announced on its Facebook page that it would conduct tests on the meatballs and call of their sale until results come out. “We do not tolerate any other ingredients than the ones stipulated in our recipes or specifications, secured through set standards, certifications and product analysis by accredited laboratories,” the statement said.
