Three Greek Mineral Springs Cited

mineral springsThree more Greek Mineral springs have been recognized by the Special Committee for the Protection of Natural Resources for their therapeutic values: the Apollonia spa in Volvi, Papaioannou in Edipsos and Traianopolis in Evros. That gives Greece 12 now.
Others include Lake Vouliagmeni in southern Attica, Kamena Vourla in St. Constantine-Molos, Krinides in Kavala, Loutraki Pozar in Aridaia, Souroti in Thessaloniki, Kanistra in Kassandra of Halkidiki, Kalithea (Rhodes), Loutraki – Perachora in Corinth, Thermi in Thessaloniki, Paranesti in Drama, Gialtra of Edipsos and Chanopoulos in Arta.
According to Invest in Greece, the country’s mineral springs and spas attract more than 100,000 visitors annually. Although there has been concerted investment in the spa sector during the last decade, it is believed that the growth potential is significant, given the untapped thermal resources available and the stunning locations in which to create spas.
