Troika Back To Athens In April

europeancommissionInspectors from the Troika of the European Union-International Monetary Fund-European Central Bank (EU-IMF-ECB) said they would abruptly leave Athens on March 14 without reaching an agreement with the government over more promised reforms and wouldn’t return until early April to continue their review.
The decision came suddenly after talks with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras a day earlier ended after less than three hours with the government said to be reluctant to lay off public workers as demanded by its international lenders. The delay means Greece will not get a 2.8 billion euros ($3.64 billion) loan installment in March as scheduled although Finance Minister Yiannis Stournaras said the monies will eventually be released.
