Dimitrelos Arrested for AEK Debts

dimitrelos_533_355The president of the Greek football team AEK, Andreas Dimitrelos was arrested by two policemen of the Attica Police Directorate’s Financial Inspection Division for non-payment of debts towards the public, overall cost up to €170,865,122.
These are debts of AEK FC, responsible for which is Dimitrelos since he has the right of signature. The amount is so high because the FC’s primary debt, before article 44, is included at a moment that the club’s administration is in no position to pay the predicted tranches for the debt’s discharge.
Former presidents and CEOs of AEK FC from 2004 and after (Demis Nikolaidis, Nikos Thanopoulos and Stavros Adamidis) face the same possibility of being arrested.
Dimitris Voutselas, owner of the Recycling & Paper Industry, was arrested too, for debts up to €14.190.749,02. Both men were led to the Prosecutor of Athens First Instance Court.
The Hellenic Police’s statement reports: “A 54-year-old Greek was arrested today (21-3-2013) morning, as CEO of a Societe Anonyme, for non-payment of debts towards the public, overall cost up to €170.865.122,00.”Nikolaidis
