Song Of 1821 Revolution Banned By NCRTV

1821Ahead of Greek Independence Day on March 25, the Greek National Council for Radio and Television (NCRTV) said it would put penalties on any station that plays Vasilis Papakonstantinou’s song When I Return I Will F…ck Them, based on General Georgios Karaiskakis’ original words, for Nikos Kalogeropoulos’ film The Cavaliers of Pylos (I Ippeis tis Pylou).
Kalogeropoulos, who lives in Kyparissia at a place he renovated in Touristiko to use it as a multiplace of culture. He said: “I have sung and told all this over and over again and with the song I have written for Karaiskakis from the bottom of my soul and for which I haven’t even requested copyright.”
The famous name Karaiskakis” and the profane title version by Papakonstantinou reminds of the loose-tongued hero of the Revolution that had no fear in front of the occupying Turks.
“Contemporary conquerors? Can’t you see all these venal officials of Troika and the Europeans? They are just a bunch of technocrats with no vision, nor substance. In front of them, Giscard d’ Estaing and his alike seem to be extremists,” he said.
