Michelin Ceases Operations in Greece

The French leading company in the tire field has had a 60 year presence in Greece, with a branch of exports. As of Jan. 1, 2014, the French company will close its branch in Greece, as the parent company is moving on to a restructure of its affiliated companies.
The final preliminary announcement was made by ​​General Manager at Michelin, David Jean, in his letter sent to the authorized dealers. Michelin has had a commercial presence in Greece since 1950 as a tire export company operating as a branch in Athens. In 1969 the company Michelin of Greece was officially founded. In 1978 the company received its current legal form as a body-corporate.
Michelin has been operating in Greece with the marketing of tires for cars, trucks, motorcycles, agricultural and industrial-earth vehicles. The tires of the company are available through the network of hundreds of stores throughout Greece. Michelin employs 113,400 employees worldwide and produces 166 million tires and 10 million maps and travel guides.
