Greece Slips In World Tourism Ranking



Greece-Slide1-SantoriniGreece now ranks 32nd among 140 countries in the world in attracting visitors and for hospitality, falling three places from 2011 in the survey Reducing Barriers to Economic Growth and Job Creation by the The Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report, which rates the quality of country’s travel and tourism industry.
Switzerland, Germany and Austria lead the world in terms of travel and tourism competitiveness, with Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Canada, Sweden and Singapore completing the top 10.
The lowest scores was given to Bolivia, followed by China and South Korea. Venezuela and Russia are ranked as well among the most inhospitable countries for tourists.
The report explores how, on one hand, the travel and tourism industry has the potential to boost the economy and the creation of jobs but, on the other, how a number of factors continue to hinder its development.
