Twenty-year-old Greek Student Stabbed to Death

police_car600A twenty-year-old nursing student was stabbed to death on April 10, at midday, in the rural town of Filiata in Thesprotia, Northwest Greece. The perpetrator was a twenty five-year-old livestock farmer.
According to reports, the young man arrived with his car outside the cafeteria where the student was with her friends and called her outside to discuss. Minutes later they started arguing.
The man brought a knife from his car and repeatedly stabbed the girl in the throat, more than ten times as reported. This happened in front of dozens of witnesses who were in the central square, the cafeterias and the shops.
The young woman, who came from the village of Paramythia, was transported to the hospital but died shortly after, despite the doctors’ efforts to keep her alive.
Right after the crime, the perpetrator disappeared with his car, which he abandoned outside Filiata. The policemen, with a dog’s help, managed to locate, trap and arrest him in an inaccessible area, in the afternoon. The man was then transferred to the police department of Thesprotia and will be lead to the prosecutor.
