Dunant Hospital Awaits Buyer's Decision

The hospital was expected to cease its function, but officials have decided against it. The prospective buyer will have to assume the institution’s debt and other costs and it’s expected as many as 500 of the 1,040 workers could lose their jobs, with their union objecting vehemently to any such plans.
The hospital was also affected by the Cypriot economic crisis, having received a loan of 90 million euros Besides, the hospital was particularly affected by the crisis in Cyprus, because it had received a loan of 90 million euros from a Cypriot bank, CPB, that is being shut down, closing off access to cash.
