Wine Masters Pick Greece For 60th Anniversary



krasiOn the occasion of its 60th anniversary, the Institute of Masters of Wine (IMW) is to visit Greece for the first time.
Founded in 1955, The MW qualification is generally regarded in the wine industry as one of the highest standards of professional knowledge. The Institute of Masters of Wine promotes learning and professional development in the global wine industry through its examination and events programs.
The Hellenic Foreign Trade and the National Inter-professional Organization of Vine and Wine (EDOAO) will implement the Wine Promotion Program in Third-Country Markets- Wine CMO, involving 95 wineries, part of which is to be visited by 22 MWs from North America and Canada, from April 20-27.
Guided tours and tastings at wine regions and wineries in Attica, the Peloponnese, Northern Greece and Santorini, are planned so the masters can try the local wines. There will be 330 labels for them to experience as well as local cheeses and olive oil, will be specially presented by well-known TV chef Ilias Mamalakis, and other professionals.  The guided tour in Greece and its wines is to be carried out by the only Greek MW, Kontantinos Lazarakis.
