IKA-ETAM Pensioners Abroad Must Declare Tax ID, AMKA

    by -

AMKAPensioners of the largest Social Security Organization in Greece IKA-ETAM, who live abroad permanently, have to declare their tax ID number (AFM) and social security number (AMKA).

According to an announcement issued by IKA  concerning particularly those insured in IKA-ETAM Athens, “The payment of pension to those who do not have an AMKA number and a tax ID, or who have not made this data known to the department of their insurance organization in Greece has been suspended and will be suspended for pensioners who have not declared one of these numbers.”

For this reason, the special application, Inform Pensioners who live abroad, is on IKA-ETAM’s website (www.ika.gr), where pensioners must complete an application with their AMKA number and tax ID, as well as their personal data, and can be informed about receiving their pension.

Those interested can seek any essential information about AMKA from the website ww.amka.gr, but if they do not have a social security number, they must have it issued immediately, in person or by proxy, by contacting a Citizen Service Center (www.kep.gov.gr) or at AMKA offices that function in IKA-ETAM.

Pensioners who have their social security number issued, will have to declare a residence postal address in Greece. If there is no address, they can declare the postal address of the IKA-ETAM branch office of Athens (48, Agisilaou street, 10436 Athens). In the case of a proxy, this person has to declare his address.

Pensioners who do not have a tax ID, can refer to the Tax Office for Residents Abroad (DOY) (4, Metsovou street, Athens, tel.: 2108204606, 2108204648-9, /fax: 210 8204653, e-mail: doykatex@1850.syzefxis.gov.gr), in person or by proxy, in order to receive information on the procedure followed to have a tax ID issued, and about the necessary documents.

      Dear Ms Margarita Papantoniou,

my mother Persefoni Rost (A.M.A.5630701 – A.M.K.A. new 15123904284) and my father Werner Rost (A.M.A. 5843031 – A.M.K.A. 11084301750) DID ALL THIS but still have NOT SEEN THEIR PENSIONS since 7 (SEVEN) MONTHS NOW !!! This is not acceptable. Could it be, that somebody else get’s illegal the money and on the records they make things look as “received”? We now have filed a complain as petition at the European Commission, because Greek Embassy in Vienna and IKA in Athens does not even respond to our phone calls, e-mails and written insured (!) letters and other requests. Don’t ask what the Head of this institution and his department/section leader of Periferiako Ipokatastima IKA Athinon, Tmima Sindaxi Jiratos Katikou Exoterikou Ajisilaou 48, 10436 Athen expects when I have time to show up in Athens.

      Respectfully yours

      Dear Ms Margarita Papantoniou,

I do realize that a few days before 15. August was not the best time to send a request to IKA as almost everybody has again off and went for holidays, but as of today (12.9.13) nobody from the specific department (ΥΠΟΔ/ΝΣΗ ΠΛΗΡΩΜΩΝ ΣΥΝΤΑΞΕΩΝ ΠΕΡΙΦ. ΥΠΟΚ/ΤΟΣ ΙΚΑ-ΕΤΑΜ ΑΘΗΝΩΝ) answered to my writen and therefor official request.
Much more not OK is the fact that my parents did not receive for now 8 (!) months any Συντάξεις at all.
I think this government institution has a internal fraud problem.

      Dear Ms Margarita Papantoniou,

I hereby inform you that the number of the officially filled petition to the Euro Parliament against IKA and responsible greek Ministry, which has already been accepted by the Office of the President of European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium and will soon appear on the Committee’s agenda visible to all representative Members is 1287/2013, as my parents did not see pension from IKA since Dec 2012.
      Respectfully yours

Hi, I was wondering how would a person find out if they do have a tax id number – afm . I am trying to help family who are now aged and living in Australia. They have worked in Greece before 1970. Your help is much appreciated.
