Miloterranean Geo Experience On Milos

images111Sponsored by the company S&B Industrial Minerals S.A., Milos Mining Museum on the island of Milos, a volcanic Greek island in the Aegean Sea, presented the new Miloterranean Geo Experience project,  a web application which caters to the inquisitive traveler’s desire to discover the multifaceted beauty of the Greek islands’ Milos and Kimolos landscape and volcanic origin.
Maps with detailed routes complemented by concise text, guide the visitor’s discovery of the island’s unique geology, wealth of mining history and present, and its beautiful natural environment; a so-far “secret” Milos is revealed. Geologists, mining engineers, foresters, cartographers and historians combined their expertise and insights to take you on an unprecedented journey of this Cycladic scenery.
Nicole Kiriakopoulou, representative of the Managing Committee of Milos Mining Museum (MMM) stated that, “Milos Mining Museum is a living body which is constantly renewed, innovative and educative. This new initiative, Miloterranean Geo Experience came to respond to visitors’ enthisiastic interest for the geology of Milos”.
In his greeting, S&B Director of Sustainability, Thomas Anthroulakis, stressed: “By supporting Miloterranean, S&B proved in practice that the company cares for the mutual and balanced development of tourism and mining industry on the island of Milos, and what is more, during a difficult time for the country”.
