Greek Choreographers Festival In Thessaloniki

CHOREOGR_02The Dance Festival of the Greek Choreographers Association has been organized for the first time in Thessaloniki, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the co-operation of the Greek department of the International Dance Council – Cid Unesco, and will run from May 27-June 2.
The aim of the event is the promotion and spreading of dance and any relevant artistic activity, as well as the showcasing of the choreographers’ skills.
The performances will be given at the Municipal Theater Aneton and the Yeni Djami (New Mosque).  The entrance fee will range around €5-10 depending on each group’s production needs.
The Dance Festival has been organized for 12 years in Athens by the Association of Greek Choreographers, which was established in 1999. The association said it wants to promote dance and artistically-related activities, bringing together choreographers and providing its members with information concerning dance related issues.
Almost every choreographer in Greece is a member of the Association. Up till now the Association has successfully organized various activities, among them the Dance Festival of Greek Choreographers, as reported in the Association’s website.
