Helicopter Simulator Made in Greece

SSSS_677_355The testing of a Greek helicopter simulator on May 29 at Souda Bay was reported to be a success. The simulator was built on behalf of the Norwegian company Evacsim SA, by Ergaleiotechniki Crete which is based in Chania.
It will be delivered at a training center in Vietnam, where lessons for crews and helicopters occupants are given, so as for them to be able to deal with the prospect of a violent ditching in case of a mechanical problem.
The Haniotika News reported that while companies which manufacture helicopter simulators are little worldwide, the company of Chania is already preparing to build similar simulators for companies in Nigeria and Australia.
The specific simulator ensures a training environment both for operators and helicopters occupants, if during the flight they are required to violently leave the helicopter when the last one ditches because of a problem, said the project coordinator Spyros Exarchos.
He explained that the simulator will head off to a training center in Vietnam in which employees, who work in marine platforms and daily commute by helicopter, will be trained.
