Milan-Athonas Quick Flights On

Agion_OrosMilan and Athonas will come closer from June 4, thanks to the new direct flight launched by Agean Airlines for this summer’s tourist season, connecting the capital of Lombardy with the airport of Thessaloniki. As a result, the duration of the trip from Milan to Athonas will be only four hours, according to the Mount Athos Area Organization.
Ten representatives of the online travel agency Bravofly Rumbo Group, which carries many customers from Italy around the world have already visited Athonas and the region around the Aristotelian Mountain to talk about the plans to link the region with that of northern Italy.
That took place from May 27-30 on the occasion of the culinary event Mount Athos Area Gourmet 2013 and is the result of the cooperation of Mount Athos Area Organization with agents of the Italian touristic market, as well as with Aegean Airlines Italy which will run the flights until the end of September.
“This is a highly encouraging development given that the region is moving towards the destination of attracting more North Italian visitors, having invested in its promotion to this specific market and having already advanced in signing contracts between local enterprises and travel agencies in Lombardy and North Italy,” Mount Athos officials said.
