1.5 Million Uninsured Workers in Greece

uninsured workerAccording to a survey carried out by the Labor Institute of G.S.E.E, about 1,5 million workers in Greece, both Greeks and foreigners, are working under the regime of partial or entirely uninsured labor.
The data show that the contribution evasion surpassed 6 billion euros only for IKA (the Social Insurance Institute, the largest social security organization in Greece), while the loss of resources for the Greek insurance system will reach 9 billion euros until 2019 due to unemployment, flexibility and uninsured work.
Giannis Vroutsis, Minister of Labour, Social Security and Welfare held a meeting on June 5 with the minister of Public Order and Citizen Protection, Nikos Dendias, to combat undeclared employment in the presence of the chief of the Hellenic Police, Nikos Papagiannopoulos.
