Dendias Asks Aid To Handle Immigrants

75346DD98773E64C1436221A6352D06EPublic Order and Citizen Protection Minister Nikos Dendias met on June 5 with theĀ  ambassadors of the European Union to Greece, the ambassadors of Norway and Switzerland, and a representative of the European Commission Representation in Greece. to talk about the waves of immigrants overrunning Greece.
The meeting was part of the presentation made to the EU member states over the country’s progress in implementing the actions provided for in the revised Greek Action Plan on Asylum and Migration Management, in view of the works of Council of Ministers of Justice and Home Affairs which are to meet on June 7 in Luxembourg, over the immigration issue.
During the meeting, the Minister stressed that Greece, being at the external borders of Europe, is being called to face, without any substantial assistance, a European problem and highlighted the problems that the country has been dealing with, regarding the financing of the actions provided for in this Action Plan.
At the same time, he once again called the representatives of the other member states so as to stand in solidarity and assist Greece in tackling the problem of migration flows.
