Greece Europe's 4th Cheapest Destination

ÓÕÍÅÄÑÉÁÓÇ ÕÐÏÕÑÃÉÊÏÕ ÓÕÌÂÏÕËÉÏÕAccording to Trivago, the travel metasearch engine focusing on hotels, Greece ranks fourth in Europe regarding hotel prices. The site also named Greece as the cheapest tourist destination in southern Europe for June 2013.
Trivago compares prices for more than 600,000 hotels on over 140 booking sites, such as Expedia and Priceline.com. Based in Düsseldorf, Germany, the site has 18 million users per month on its 30 international platforms
This time Trivago compared the hotel prices in 50 cities and 24 European countries. The average online hotel price per night for a double-bed room has dropped by 8 percent reaching 93 euros from 100 euros it was during the same month last year.
Bulgaria is even cheaper with an average price of 57 euros, then follows Romania with 61 euros and Hungary with 81 euros. At the same time, Greece is the cheapest destination in southern Europe for June 2013, while it showed the highest drop in the average hotel price.
The average price in Spain and Portugal is at 102 euros, in Cyprus at 113 and in Italy at 139 euros.  Hotels in Greece are also cheaper than in Turkey where the price stood at 137 euros.
