Georgian national, David Murtikneli, was sentenced to life for the murder of the Greek actor, Nikos Sergianopoulos, in 2008. The court didn’t recognize any extenuating circumstances.
The famous Greek actor was found stabbed 21 times in his apartment. According to the case file, on the fateful night Sergianopoulos went to his home with Murtikneli he had picked up from Victoria Square.
The 34-year-old man from Georgia confessed to the crime and alleged that the actor had made aggressive sexual advances while holding a knife so he disarmed him and stabbed him.
