Museum Visitors Up 13.2% in March

newego_LARGE_t_1101_54221945In March 2013, the number of visitors to museums around Greece rose by 13.2 percent in comparison with March 2012. In addition, museums’ revenues were equally increased by 14.4 percent compared to the same month last year.
According to the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT), the first trimester of 2013 a rise of 19 percent in museums around Greece was recorded along with a 10.6 percent rise in the revenues compared to the same period last year.
In March 2013 a significant rise (by 38.8 percent) in the number of people who visited archaeological sites was noted. The correspondent rise in revenues was 48.2 percent.
During the first trimester of 2013 , the rise of visitors to archaeological sites was 38.7 percent while revenues increased by 44.4 percent.
