Payne, Papamichail At Patmos Film Festival

F793CE7795308B6F0E87D3D7839987D4The internationally renowned Greek-American film director and script writer Alexander Payne, whose family name was changed from Papadopoulos, will be present at this year’s International Film Festival of Patmos which will be held from July 24-31.
Payne, an Academy Award winner for screenplay writing, will be be accompanied by the Greek-American director Faedon Papamichail, a close associate with whom he has worked on other films including the upcoming Nebraska.
He is a native of Omaha and known for quirky and dark dramas such as Sideways and About Schmidt, featuring characters seeking self-fulfillment and individualism. He also directed the well-received The Descendants in 2011, which starred George Clooney.
This is the third consecutive organization of the festival which includes a number of international and domestic independent films such as Marshall Lewy’s California Solo, Olivia Silver’s Arcadia and Bakhtyar Khudojnazarov’s Waiting for the Sea which was co-produced by Thanasis Karathanos.
